As a country, the United States is expert at manufacturing disease. In fact, we spend at least $350 billion a year taking care of health problems related to smoking and obesity. The smoking-related illnesses are going down but the obesity-related ones keep going up. Wally Gomaa, CEO of ACAP Health, met with Jim Landers from the Dallas Morning News and shared that although medical procedures continue to go up in price, the number of employees using those procedures is rising even faster. “The real enemy in health care is not hospital systems or pharmaceutical companies.
